Issued to the U.S. Air Force, this is an early model of the JACKET AIR CREW HEAVY ATTACHED HOOD TYPE N-3B.
This is an authentic item, not a replica.
Product Details:
The N-3B was manufactured for approximately 40 years, starting around 1953. This particular jacket is an early model from 1957, MILJ.6279C (USAF). It was made by ALBERT TURNER, the predecessor to the famous ALPHA company. Key features include a black tag, oxygen tab, and a CROWN zipper.
Condition:
• The nylon fabric has small holes and what appears to be oil stains, but there are no major noticeable scratches or stains. There is some discoloration typical of vintage items. The shell is in good condition.
• The USAF decal is faded but still present.
• The ribbing has some minor moth damage on both sides.
• The coyote fur has been removed.
• There are cracks in the zipper tape and around the neck, so care is needed when opening and closing.
The N-3B is classified as a "Heavy Zone" flight jacket, designed for wear in extremely harsh conditions ranging from -10 to -30 degrees Celsius, and is known as the ultimate cold-weather garment. You will feel the genuine quality in its substantial weight.
